For most of us, life in the modern world is busy as we juggle work, family, health, travel and our daily “to-do” list. And in the background is the natural world; providing al of the resource that we need to nourish ourselves each day. The sun, the plants, the water… powerful sources of nourishment.

For me, the power of the natural world reaches far into my subconscious. It is a place full of wonder and beauty, and the impression that it has left on me continuously calls to my senses, no matter what I’m doing. I can go a few weeks in the city, navigating the structures and activity that are so important to being productive. But it doesn’t take long before I hear the call, and I know that it is time I go to the forest.

8”x11” - final piece shown hanging.
Acrylic, pastel and alcohol ink on yupo.
