See it come together

Watch a coaster bloom.

Flowers go in face down, one at a time, into a thin film of resin. Then the colour, then the pour. When the mold comes away the next day, the flowers sit right under a glassy surface, like they were pressed into water.

This is exactly what you'll do in class.

What you'll make

Three kinds of small treasure.

A set of four handmade flower coasters is a quiet luxury. You'll leave with your own set, plus keychains and jewelry pieces, all made by you.

Flower coasters

Square or round, deep blue or crystal clear. You design the arrangement and choose the colour behind it.

Finished coasters, a clear round coaster with roses and a blue star keychain beside silicone molds

Keychains

Little shapes with a tiny flower or a swirl of colour, finished with a ring so they're ready to give.

Handmade resin moons, stars and pendants with pressed flowers, gold swirls and glitter

Small jewelry and ornaments

Pendants, charms and little ornaments with real petals inside, poured separately from your coasters. Extra handmade gifts to give away this holiday season.

How it unfolds

  1. 01

    Choose your flowers

Daisies, delphinium, sweet alyssum, ferns and more, all pressed and ready. You lay out your arrangement before anything touches resin.

  2. 02

    Mix with care

I show you how to measure and mix resin properly, and why it matters. Most problems people have at home start right here.

  3. 03

    Set the flowers

A thin first layer holds every petal in place, face down, so your flowers sit right at the surface instead of floating away.

  4. 04

    Colour and pour

Mica, pigment and shimmer for the background, then the final pour. We pop the bubbles and let it settle.

Questions

Good to know

Do I need any experience?

None at all. I walk you through every step, and most people in my classes are touching resin for the first time.

Why can't I take my pieces home the same day?

Resin needs a full night to cure before it can come out of the mold. I take everything back to my studio, demold your pieces and check them. Then you choose: pick up your finished pieces at my James Bay studio the next day, have me deliver them in Victoria, or have them shipped to you at cost. I'll send the details after you book.

What if I don't love what I make?

If you don't love your pieces or the afternoon, tell me and I'll refund you in full.

What should I wear?

Clothes you don't mind getting a drip on. I provide gloves and everything else you need.

Can I bring my own flowers?

Yes, as long as they're pressed and completely dry. Fresh flowers turn brown in resin. A wedding bouquet or garden flowers you pressed yourself make beautiful keepsakes.

How many pieces will I make?

Most people leave with a set of coasters plus a few keychains or jewelry pieces. It depends on how much time you spend arranging, and there's no rush.

Can I keep making these at home?

Yes. Every student leaves with my complete supply kit list: the resin I trust, the molds, pigments, flowers and tools I use. One order and you're set up to keep making at home.

Can you bring this class to my group?

Yes, until December 14. Gather your friends, family or team and I'll bring the whole workshop to you, anywhere in Greater Victoria. $229 per person, minimum 5 people. Email me to plan yours.

Can I give a seat as a gift?

Of course. Book it under your name, then email me who it's for and I'll send them a little note with the details.

Make something that lasts.

Four hours, real flowers, and handmade gifts you'll be proud to give. I keep the group intimate, just eight at the table.

Also this season: Handmade Holidays in Ink, Sunday, Nov 29. Eleven handmade gifts in one afternoon.
