Samuqwan is the Mi’kmaq word for water. In the Mi’kmaq culture, women are the keepers of the water.

Water is one of the most important and sacred parts of life on Earth. We are composed of it, nourished by it and would not exist without it. I believe that we have a sacred relationship and responsibility to protect water, and all of it’s inhabitants, including the Wild Salmon that are currently under immense pressure on the BC Coast.

20% of the proceeds from the sale of this piece will be donated to The Wild Salmon Defenders Alliance. A tax receipt will be provided.
