I had the absolute pleasure of reaching out to Natalie after discovering her captivating work on Instagram. Her unique style of abstract art immediately caught my eye, and I knew I wanted to dive into the world of art creation, despite having no prior experience. My goal was to infuse my new living space with intentional pieces, and Natalie turned this dream into a remarkable reality. From the very start, Natalie’s approach felt incredibly personal and inviting. The experience was both comfortable and collaborative, which made all the difference. Her wealth of knowledge and immense talent are awe-inspiring, but what truly sets her apart is her genuine warmth and willingness to share her expertise. Learning from her was an absolute delight. Natalie’s classes offer more than just artistic guidance – they provide a holistic journey that enables you to ground yourself, find clarity, and embrace purpose. Her support throughout the process was unwavering, and her flexibility with scheduling made the entire experience seamless. Without reservation, I wholeheartedly recommend working with Natalie. Her kindness and welcoming nature create an atmosphere of trust and positivity, while her skillful instruction and mentoring truly cater to your individual goals. Natalie’s guidance goes beyond art; it’s an exploration of creativity, a personal connection, and a path to self-discovery.

CREATIVITY AS A WAY OF LIFE - COACHING

  • People who benefit from creative coaching may include:- newly retired folks who want to make art but have no idea how to start, or what direction to take.- people who are good at analytical thinking but don't feel comfortable thinking in abstract ways.- anyone who is already creating (art, music, writing, etc) but has reached a plateau and are feeling stuck.… and more.

  • -some discovery around where you're currently at, and where you want to go-processes to break through barriers-a roadmap that leaves space for life’s natural rhythms- gentle assistance with accountability.

  • My coaching style is not overly rigid, because I believe that life has natural rhythms which I don't push against. That said - we can get stuck in our "stories". With the process I use, we acknowledge whatever is keeping us stuck while integrating it into the process of creativity. We drop the idea of getting things “right”. We continue creating. The time we have together in the sessions is not only about making great art, it's also about learning to use art as a way to move through life. Honest sound bite - I don't coach under the pretense of having figured it all out myself. But, I do have about 14 years of experience with breaking through blockages and living a creative life, and I have a lot of practice using very specific techniques to do so.

  • Not everything we do together will be something you share with others. We're going to use cognitive processes combined with creative techniques (in your field), to move you through your blocks. We can do this via Zoom, or in person.

With me as your wingman, I'll help you process and create in a way that serves the larger arc of your life. And, if you want to make art that people love, I'll give you everything I've got as a creative instructor. I'm also here to serve people who just need to be messy because sometimes, life is messy.

    Either way, I’ve got you.

  • We start with 6 sessions of creative coaching. First, I learn about what’s happening for you, and why you want learn, or push your creativity. I’ll listen very carefully to you. Then, I want to know about your goals - are you wanting to be a better dancer? Do you want to make abstract paintings but you can only think in lines? Did you just go through a huge life change and your heart is calling for you to make art, but you don’t know how? Do you want to use art as a form of processing something important in your life? Once I understand your deeper story, I’ll help you set some realistic goals and we’ll collaborate on a plan to help you stay accountable to your creativity. From there, we get into the basics of creating art - getting your creative juices flowing with whatever medium you want to use (paint, writing, music, dance, etc). As we progress, I’ll follow cues and guide you on a journey into creator psychology, symbolism, divergent thinking, creative devotion, working with the unconscious mind and more. With techniques I’ve used many many times for myself, you’'ll learn to break past the negative thought patterns that keep you stuck as a creative, but that also translate into every day life.

Once the 6 sessions are complete, one can choose ongoing monthly coaching.

Creativity is often tied to deep connection with ourselves and *all* of our parts. And, after over 10 years of teaching I've noticed that everybody is creative, there are no exceptions other than the limitations we place on ourselves.

  • I decided to formalize my coaching because as a long-time art instructor, I notice what keeps people stuck and I see very common patterns in the way we think and how that affects us a people who want live a creative, fulfilling life.

As a creative, coaching helps me a lot, so I know the value of it. (I've had a coach for my whole career)

Working with Natalie was so fulfilling and helped me explore something that I had been wanting to do for awhile. I love Natalie’s art and was so pleased when I found out that she offered classes/coaching. Going into the sessions and working through the process was definitely outside my comfort zone but she was extremely encouraging and supportive throughout it all. She offers specific guidance and feedback to improve your skill and awareness while allowing you to still explore art in a way that is truly your own. I now feel more confident to keep playing and experimenting to create my own paintings/expressions. I would highly recommend her as a teacher/mentor to anyone wanting to know about abstract art.
